Georgia PINES trains professionals annually to contract as parent advisors for the program. SKI-HI parent advisors serving families of children with hearing loss are degreed teachers of the hearing impaired, audiologists, and speech/language pathologists. Parent advisors using the INSITE Model come from a variety of backgrounds including teachers of the visually impaired, orientation and mobility specialists, early childhood special education teachers, teachers of the hearing impaired, and other related special education fields. VIISA training is offered to parent advisors previously trained in the INSITE Model who are currently serving families of children with vision impairment only through Georgia PINES.
